Windows 10 installation has failed

As the title says, "Windows 10 installation has failed" is all I get after going through everything.

The last few times I tried, it said that my language would be changed!!!

No idea why as there is no setting for it.

Also I am no longer able to do a Windows Update on my system. And I am the admin ( as I am also the only user ).

During the instillation, it all looks and seems ok, but right at the end when it starts to actually starts to install, it stops and all I get is the  "Windows 10 installation has failed" box with no reason for it.

I have no errors regarding compatibility for running Windows 10.

My PC is custom. A project I have wanted to do for a long time and it has been great. So in case I am needing to remove, alter or what ever, here are the basic stats.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

DUAL CPU's , both Intel Xeon E5-2609 server processors @ 2.4GHz 4core LGA2011 socket

32GB 1333MHz DDR3 NON-EEC ram

Running on a ASUS Z9PE-D8 WS Workstation board

LightOn DVD RW drive with Blue ray read capable

Two Hitachi IDK Deskstar H31K400032SE 4TB HDD's as well as a Hitachi 1TB and a Samsung 500GB as main OS

ATI Radeon HD 7770 Series graphics card.

I will be swapping out the 500 for a SSD which I have ready, but not till everything is working.

I have heard that I might need to remove all but main drive, fix registry entries and a host of other stuff. Some of which I have tried with no affect.

Last two points.

1) I have not gotten the final "OK" from the get windows app that I am good to go (as in my download is ready).

2) I downloaded and made a win10 DVD with the supplied windows downloader program. (so might be a possible issue with the download?????)

That said, too many have had issues with upgrading.

==========================

UPDATE:

So fare nothing seems to fix what was done, and still cant load windows 10.

==========================

UPDATE 2:

Reading about other peoples issues, I tried a clean boot onto my SSD (fresh out of the box) and unplugged all other drives.

Though I am wanting the free update, doing a new install should see if it is a problem with my current OS or not.

Just to be sure as well, I entered the Bios and tried to set it best as possible to the needs.

As it was, nothing was affected or changed and lead to the same "ACPI_BIOS_ERROR". So I am thinking that it is one of two possibilities. (but am open to others)

1) Windows 10 is at fault and is incomplete.

2) My motherboard has an incompatibility of some sort.

Can someone from the Windows team say one way or the other please, and possibly give a remedy of some sort.

===========================

UPDATE 3: (from my android pad)

I finaly found the "admin/IT" area to edit the updates section.

But on re starting the PC, it never progresses passed the initial loading page now.

What has win10 done to my pc!?

I have tried all loading options to fix it appart from using my install cd.

And as i currently do not have access to it, that meens i am without a pc now.

thanks for the help. Unfortunately nothing helped.

During one "mr fix it" check I got this...

I thought I would also try direct install rather than from the iso/DVD.

It seemed to work....... till the reboot.

First it flashed up an error saying "ACPI Bios Error" , then on reloading back to win7 I get this.

I did it twice to check.

So thinking that one problem was my original download of windows 10, I re downloaded it. No difference.

So I am un able to use iso or DVD, and the "live" install crashes on boot.

As well as my current issues are un fixed as well.

Is there a glitch in the windows 10 upgrade code?

Right then........ Thanks to this debacle, I lost 4Tb of data.

I did try to use a downloaded version of Win7 Ultimate on USB to fix it, but I got the message that it was not compatible as it was not the version I had loaded on the PC. As such I had no choice but to spend a day in storage trying to find my install disc.

When I did, and tried to fix my PC, it gave me the warning that it was not compatible as it was not the version that was loaded in............   REALLY!!

Well as this is most definitely not the case and I had no way to access the drive, I was forced with a new install.

Thanks Microsoft!!

So when I see this now, I think "what makes you so sure?!?"

Finally found a solution.

I needed to do a gradual bios upgrade to the mother board.

Seemed that for some reason the bios was not seeing /working with windows10.

Once the latest available bios was installed and tested to be stable, I then did an upgrade.

The board should now also see a stand alone install, but not tested.

According to ASUS, the board is not yet supported or tested for windows 10 as yet.

But with the latest bios, it seems to work ok and is stable (so fare that I can tell).

Hello Mario,

We're sorry to hear the inconvenience you have experienced.

The ACPI_BIOS_ERROR bug check indicates that the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) BIOS of the computer is not fully compliant with the ACPI specification. To resolve this behavior, contact the manufacturer of your computer to obtain a BIOS that is fully ACPI compliant.

You can determine which component is faulty by running the diagnostic disk or tool that was included with your computer. If you do not have this tool, you must contact the system vendor and report this error message to them. They will be able to help you correct this hardware problem. This enables Windows to operate. Microsoft cannot address this error. Only the hardware vendor is qualified to analyze it.

Go through the link to learn Windows 10 Specifications.

Keep us posted if you require further assistance.

Hi there Mario. I would suspect that you have the original BIOS as from factory as I did.

ASUS have a BIOS upgrade program that you can down load called "ASUSUpdate_VER801".

Well that was the one I found.

Then you need to install the first main BIOS upgrade. Please read on the site which one it is.

I think it was v3.* . After you install and reboot, then test the system to see if it is stable.

Remember to keep a copy of the original bios to this point.

If all is good, then you can go an install the final update version. No need to install all versions .

If memory serves, after you do the last main BIOS update, you will not be able to revert to old one any more.

There is info on the ASUS site for all this.

All BIOS versions are available to download from the site.

Hope it helps you out.

I am currently using Windows 10 pro.

I did have problems in sorting it out as seen above, but it now works.

My system basic is:

DUAL CPU's , both Intel Xeon E5-2609 server processors @ 2.4GHz 4core LGA2011 socket

32GB 1333MHz DDR3 NON-EEC ram

Running on a ASUS Z9PE-D8 WS Workstation board.

Might be worth trying to re-install the latest BIOS again. As well as did you jump the BIOS versions, or do the step up method? This might be a possible problem from what I had read on the site.

I was running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. That works very well on this board.

However I wanted to upgrade, even if just to test it out.

I have not tested a clean install of win10 yet, but rather did the free upgrade via windows update.
