We couldn't install Windows 10 - Error 0x8007002C - 0x4000D

I tried to update to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit via the Media creation tool for 64-bit . It seemed to go well until the very end, where I got the error "We couldn't install Windows 10 - 0x8007002C - 0x4000D", the same error that is described in this article http://www.inmymobileworld.com/2015/08/01/we-couldnt-install-windows-10-0x8007002c0x4000d/

The article suggests uninstalling any Firewall/Security and AntiVirus/Antimalware software, but I don't have any, only Windows defender. My computer is an Acer Aspire Z3770.

What went wrong?

Update: I've just performed a clean boot and tried to update again, to no avail. I got the same error and it just goes back to Windows 8.1

I found the solution!

Reading the setuperr file located in Windows.~BT\Sources\Panther I noticed that some folders couldn't be migrated. It turns out these folders were protected with password by my program Folder Guard, that's why Windows failed to migrate them. So I removed all the passwords from these folders, and the upgrade was successful, without any major problems.

So, if you have any file protection software, remove all the passwords before upgrading to Windows 10.
