skype for business installation problem: Error reading from file D\User\** verify that the file exists and that you can access it

I am trying to install skype for business desktop app from .msi ( SkypeMeetingApp.msi ) file downloaded from official website.

But when I run it, i get the error: "  Error reading from file D\User\**\Downloads  verify that the file exists and that you can access it " .

Details: 

My C drive is an SSD and I have downloaded the file in D drive. Please note that I haven't faced any such problem in case of other software installation.

Copy the .msi file to desktop 

Then try to install with admin rights

I am working as a Mathematics lecturer in a PU college.
Windows11_Pro_64bit_23H2_buildno_22631.3593_MS.office365_C2R_2401_v17231.20236_Intel_i5_13500_Nvidia3060_12GB_GDDR6_RAM_32GB_5600_Storage8TB.

, thanks for reply. This didn't work. I already have one skype (office ) app but that neither runs nor can get uninstalled. When i try to uninstall it, it shows that 'uninstall could not be completed'.

Try to use revo uninstaller tool  or. CCleaner tool to uninstall that software.

revo uninstaller worked. I manually deleted all the files related to office. Thanks !

Problem: I have installed the app in WindowsApps folder, which I didn't have access to. So after installation, when you run the app using shortcut icon, it caused problem as the shortcut couldn't access the linked skype app.

Solution: I owned the WindowsApps folder (i.e. changed the ownership to myself)
