How can I stop the edge browser from automatically logging me into my Microsoft account?

I have read several responses to my question from others and nothing appears to stop this auto-login from occurring. I don't understand why Microsoft is making it so difficult or perhaps impossible to do this. Please advise

Have you tried signing out once Edge has loaded. What website are you accessing when you see your MS account has signed in.

My default home site is msn.com. I get logged in as soon as I launch the browser.

I can logout  for that browser session but once I start a new browser it occurs again.

Don't call the scam support number. I'm sure it will be deleted soon.

If you open control panel and select credentials manager, then web credentials do you see your sign-in in the list. Try deleting the entry.

Hi Roger,

Please follow this step:

Press the Windows key+R. In the run box, type msconfig.

Click on the settings tab, in the left column scroll down to Microsoft Sign In Assistant, uncheck the box click on apply / restart your system.

Note: Signing-in with a local account instead of your MS account will also disable the automatic login.

Please let me know if this will help you,

Thanks and regards,

I was able to remove my web password from the web credentials prompt. I launched edge and I was again logged-into my MSFT account. This password was not the one associated with my MSFT account. Is that the correct password to have deleted? I still have the issue but thanks anyway.

        Warning from a moderator

You may have received a message prompting you to call Microsoft. Do not call; this was a bogus message posted by a scammer. The phone number does not belong to Microsoft and the post has been removed.

When I run msconfig I get a screen that offers me a general, Boot, services, startup and tools tabs. There a long list of applications under the services tab but Microsoft Sign in Assistant is not there. Please advise.
