What is the make and model of your computer?
What have you done so far to troubleshoot the problem?
How long has this been happening?

Which version of Windows 10 is currently installed: 1507, 1511, 1607, 1703?
Which version of Windows did you upgrade from?

Sometimes your computers firmware, which deals with things like power management, which is related to sleep needs to be updated. Remember, the issue you are experiencing here is outside of Windows, where its not resuming from sleep. Windows is in a saved state on the hard disk and can't manage the hardware resources, thats left up to Firmware (your BIOS) to handle. So, its obvious this more a hardware issue than software, but updated driver software can fix it.

It could suggest you need to update your chipset drivers and BIOS.

I recommend you update the most critical ones: BIOS, Chipset, Display Driver, Network

If that does not work, I recommend you try two things
First: Boot to the Windows 10 desktop
Press Windows key + X
Click Device Manager
Expand Batteries
Right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System.
Choose Update Driver Software.
Make sure you are connected to the Internet, the check for updates.

When complete, restart then check if you can sleep and wake.

Second option
uninstall your display driver then restart
Boot to the Windows 10 desktop
Press Windows key + X
Click Device Manager
Expand Display adapters
Right click the current display adapter
Click Uninstall
Exit Device Manager
Restart

If that does not work, well, we need to try something else. Try resetting the BIOS:

Had a similar problem.

Have Windows 10 pro 64 bit in a Dell XPS desktop.

Just after I updated to Feature update to Windows 10, (Fall Creators Update) version 1709 Successfully installed on ‎10/‎17/‎2017

when I put the computer to Sleep and then tried to wake it with the desktop it would not wake.

I checked the Device Manager and I did have the box "Allow this device to wake the computer" checked.

Nothing had changed since the 1709 update then after that the problem arose.

In fact, I have two other partitions on my computer: 1) WIndows 7 32 bit and 2) Windows 10-64 without the 1709 update.

In both these boots the wake using the keyboard and mouse are still working.

So from that I would assume that it is NOT a hardware or BIOS issue.

Help and suggestions appreciated

I concur it's not the BIOS

it is a fall creators update issue

I work a lot with WOL and have been doing that for some time now, in fact, everything was running smoothly until the fcu.

Now none of the PC's wake up via WOL nor keyboard & mouse.

Hope this gets resolved soon

I have the same issue, right after the update was "successfully installed". Computer freezes, and monitor has black and white vertical lines, with stuff in between.  Uninstalled graphic driver and no go. There is no new bios for my system.  Intel has no new drivers. This is a window issue.  I am afraid to restore as I might not have old password.

I have same problem, surface pro 2017, I don't think it is BIOS or somehow other problem. The IR of camera is light on and surface pro just won't wake up, Creators update is terrible.

I don't agree Sandman,

fcu is beautiful, neat and even more intuitive than 1703.

Consider the vast amount of hardware and software Microsoft has to deal with and the goal of making the most secure and reliable Os ever.

I think you should cut them some slag and be confident they'll sort things out, lets keep pounding them with feedback about things we encounter and yes, I to am annoyed by this wake up issue.

Thought I had it all figured out and save some extra energy by remote sleeping / waking up the devices I need without extra hardware. (aware my devices)

for me, its back to my old sneakers and my Fitbit stepping counter will be glad...

keep faith...

I installed latest graphic driver, and that did not help.  Planning on going back to older version if microsoft does not do anything.

AMD or NVIDIA? I installed 388.00 WHQL on a clean install of Windows 10 Fall Creators Update and my PC does not seem to have any issues waking from sleep. Try resetting Windows.
