uninstall Driver Detective from Windows 10 PC

there have been previous posts on this but none of them solve the problem.

Everytime I boot my PC Driver Detective appears in the "show hidden icons" on the bottom toolbar.

The programme does not appear in Control Panel>Uninstall Programme

I have downloaded Revo and it doesn't appear there either.  I have downloaded and run TDSSKiller but found no problems.

Searching for Driver Detective in File Explorer shows two folders where it is present,

C:\Program Files (x86)\Driver Detective    and

C:\ProgramData\PC Drivers HeadQuarters\Driver Detective

There is no Uninstall file in either of these folders.

in the first folder, right clicking on the main Driver Detective.exe file and selecting run as administrator gives no options for unistalling.

The advice from the company's website is just to click on uninstall from the Driver Detective listing in the All Programmes list from the start menu but it doesn't appear there.

Please help, I am at my wits end with trying to get rid of this software.

**Moved from:  Windows / Windows 10 / Files, folders, & storage / PC **

I would launch the Task Manager, then click the Startup tab and disable everything that is related to the Driver Detective.

Failing this I would download and launch AutoRuns and do the same.

I would also refrain from installing crapware that promises you improved performance but is, in fact, useless at best and damaging at worst. If a driver needs updating then Windows will tell you so. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
