How to install Windows 10 - Photos App

For optimizing Windows 10 for Citrix Virtual Desktop we have uninstalled all built-in App including Widows Photos for all users (Master Image). Now, we want to restore only Windows Photos for all users. How can I do that? I tried may PowerShell commands which restoring the app only for that account which is logged in.

Kindly help. Its bit critical.

Hello  Ajesh,

There are several ways for you to reinstall the Windows 10 Photo app. If you've already remove the app, the easiest method is by downloading the app from the Store. Open Windows Store app> On search, type Microsoft Photos> Click the Free button.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for your feedback.

We appreciate your response. You can try running the below PowerShell command in admin.

Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.Windows.Photos_15.1208.10480.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\AppxManifest.xml"}

You could run "Get-AppXPackage" to check the all the apppackages information. Replace the file location with the one you want to reinstall.

In addition, you can also reinstall Windows built-in apps by following the steps below and uninstall the apps you don't need:

  1. Run PowerShell in admin
  2. Type:

Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

We'll keep an eye out for your response.
