Can I use Windows 10 Home Edition for Commercial/Company use?

Hi,

Recently i just bought new laptop comes with Windows 10 Home Edition.

Can i use Home Edition for Commercial/Company use or I need to Upgrade to Pro Edition.

As far i know for Microsoft Office need use Business edition for Commercial/Company use.

 FYI i lives in Malaysia.

Thank you.

If it meets your needs, no problem using Windows 10 Home.

If your company requires connecting to a business server such as a Windows Server Domain, then you will need Windows 10 Pro.

Hi Andre,

I will be purchasing mini PCs with MS Windows 10 Home and be deploying it to my clients.

It will be used only as media player.

Is this possible?

I am from the Philippines.

Thank you

Hi Andro,

You can definitely use Windows 10 Home if you will only use the basic features. You can refer to Andre Da Costa's answer above regarding the difference between Home & Pro, as well as their advantages, for you to have a better option.

Should you need further assistance, feel free to reply on this post.

Prasanto,

Yes, it is legal.  You can see for yourself in the licence that you will find on every Windows 10 computer.

This is where mine is - C:\Windows\System32\en-GB\Licenses\OEM\Core\license.rtf - so go to C:\Windows\System32 then drill down through its language selections to get to your licence.

In my version of the licence, the relevant para is 13d which specifies those versions that cannot be used for commercial purposes.  The right to use other versions for commercial purposes is therefore an "implied right" in many jurisdictions but I have no idea about yours.  If you require any further reassurance beyond your own study of the licence document then you will have to seek the advice of a legal professional.

You can also find a copy in Microsoft License Terms for all products
