what should i do with this error >> 80070006-2000C ?

can't install Win 10  cause i'm getting an error, 80070006-2000C !

Laptop asus A44H.. Hard Drive 500gb .. ram 2gb.. CPU pentium -2.30Ghz.. Win 8.1 Pro 64bit installed..

and 20GB plus space still remain in 'C' drive..

Trying to install Windows 10 through the update, Tried 2 times and always fails in the same way.


Will do down load at 2.699.0 MB then Preparing for installation


I accept and the Laptop will close and re-boot 2 times all ok

Then I get a large circle stating "Upgrading Windows" in the circle is 0% then 1% and below "copying files" 0% then 1%, 2% and thats it...

Screen blanks re-boots and does restore point and back at Win 8 Log in !

I will be glad to help you with the issue you have with the computer. I understand the frustration when things don't work the way it should.

I suggest you to follow the below steps to troubleshoot on the issue and then try to install Windows:

1. Browse to "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download" and delete the contents of the folder.
2. Press Windows key + X > Click Command Prompt (Admin) then type "wuauclt.exe /updatenow".

Hit Enter

3. Open Control Panel > Windows Update and Windows 10 should begin downloading..

Press Windows key + X

Click Command Prompt (Admin)

Type in at the prompt OR Copy and Paste these one at a time : (Hit enter after each)

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
