Is the Windows 10 Upgrade availabe on disc (even for a smal fee) + License Key

Would the free upgrade to Windows 10 be available on a disc even for a small fee?

Be especially usual for re-install if need be/having to replace hard drives etc or a desired clean install.

Also would a new License Key be given or the current operating system Key be valid for both?

Cheers

Will users who take advantage of the upgrade offer for Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 also be able to obtain recovery media?

Microsoft recently noted the following options available:

With Windows 10, you can create your own recovery media and back up the pristine state of the operating system and preinstalled software. If things go wrong and you are unable to refresh or reset your device successfully, you can boot the device using recovery media and reset to the prior pristine state.

You can also initiate a clean install by doing the following:

You can do a clean install a couple ways.

Press Windows key + i

Click Update and Security

Click Recovery

Under Remove everything and reinstall Windows, click Get started

or

At the Sign in screen

Hold down the shift key on your keyboard while clicking the Power icon on the screen

Continue to hold down the shift key while clicking Restart

Continue to hold down the shift key until the Advanced Recovery Options menu appears

Click Troubleshoot

Click Reset

Thanks Andre,

Those are useful ways and good link to the explanation of windows 10 recovery , thank you.

I was thinking more along the lines with reformatting the hard drive completely or new hard drive or even staring afresh completely.

Cheers

That's fine but it doesn't ans the question about hardware replacement. IE hard drive. I have a pc in my garage that I've had to replace 2 hard drives over the last couple of years. I would need a disk to reinstall. Can one be purchased for Win 10. I have a win 8 disk and it takes hours to install all of the updates before it will let it upgrade to 8.1pro.

A disk will save lots of time.

Rick:

I personally think I would want to try Windows 10 on a new hard drive prior to making the move permanent.  That way, in case something goes wrong, I can at least get back to my Win7 installation without much trouble.

I agree John,

Never liked the thought of upgrading from one to another hoping for the best. I always opt for a clean install.

I also agree but there are those 2 words "clean install". Which in my mind means from a disk.

I'm first trying 10 on my laptop which is not my main PC. Something goes wrong there I reinstall 8.0 from my disk and up to 8.1.

So, do you know if there is going to be a disk available for this free upgrade. I know there will be a charge which I am more that happy to pay for.

Or can we download it and place it onto a bootable USB pen like you can do now with windows 8.1? As like other I hate doing just a update and will want to do a fresh install, will we get a new product key? Or do we use the windows 8/8.1 key we currently have?

I second the question above.  Not only for the clean installation, but because I have DSL which is, frankly, poor to say the least when trying to download anything of significant size.  This is compounded that I have 4 machines that may have to be upgraded.  It could take hours or even days to download this update on a DSL connection.
