Wrong desktop displayed for user accounts

I recently tried to add my self to my wife's laptop so that I wouldn't muck up her bookmarks or files (basically so that I might use the internet). However after doing this, all her files and programs show up in my account and hers is vanilla (her desktop shows basic programs etc. mine shows all of her stuff). Any way to swap the two?
Hi Curtis:

Was her account a local account and you merely added your Microsoft account to it?

This is the only way adding your account would have ended up with her user files in it.

Go to Settings> Accounts > Your Info and choose Sign In With Local Account to retrieve her old account.

Then in Family and other Users create a new account using your MS account there.

Ok, log into the account with her files and delete the other extra account you created.

Curtis, sign into your wife's actual account . Then the duplicate account will appear under Settings > Accounts > Family and other Users where you can highlight and delete it.

In Account Settings the signed-in Account always appears under Your Info while all others are then listed under Family and other Users.
