Why does Cortana ask me to “Enter your old password one last time”?
I just upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7. I am trying to sign into Cortana for the first time but I am confused about having to provide multiple logins.
After listening to your feedback, we’ve made some improvements to Cortana’s password experience.Beginning with the Windows 10 November update, when you sign into Cortana for the first time, Cortana will no longer require customers who have local Windows accounts to switch to a Microsoft account as their primary login to their computer to use Cortana.During the setup screens, when you get to the screen that asks if you want to “Sign into this device using your Microsoft account” a link is provided to “Sign into just this app instead”.If you choose to sign into Cortana separately, you will not be required to switch to a Microsoft account as your login to Windows, and consequently, you will no longer be required to provide your current Windows password one last time to enable Cortana.
