How can I uninstall Cortana?

Apparently  Siri . Apples servant/handmaiden, won that contest two years before Cortana... Apple still haven't changed the name.

I reckon both names are used in a racist manner. What with the implications of illegal migrants, maids, call centre slaves and all.

It's a real worry....

Shame...

Perhaps MS and Apple should have contest to rename these bots with gender neutral voice and name.

I'll kick it off with something we call all relate to - R2 D2. Original voice actor too.

I see your point, but honestly, there's a huge difference in agency between Hal and Cortana. I understand that people my age and older believe that simply having a female character can be seen as an advance, whatever qualities pertain to her (yeah, she's nude but she's strong). However, the persistence of females in "assistive" roles is disheartening to a former programmer and systems engineer. And it does have a direct effect on how women are treated in technical roles - and indeed, how the potential for women to achieve in tech has declined over the decades. Yes, really; women had a much better chance to excel in the computer field in the forties!

I don't blame you at all over being angry and indignant over the treatment of women in STEM issues and professions.  I've always found however that righteous anger and indignance can be channeled much more effectively when one remembers to get the steps "ready, aim, fire!" in the correct order.
