Windows Update Error (0x80244007)

When I am update windows update on my system then a error is coming like...

"There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x80244007)"

Please advise me how to resolve this error.

Hi,

For us to isolate your concern regarding updating Windows, we would like to ask you a few questions:

  • Which OS version and build are you trying to install?
  • What is the make and model of your device?
  • Did you encounter any internet connection issues while updating?

In the meantime, we recommend that you run the Windows Update Troubleshooter as it resolves common errors encountered while installing the latest Windows updates. You can download the Windows Update Troubleshooter for Windows 10 here.

Let us know if it works for you.

Make sure to run the script as an administrator.

I've been having this problem as well, I'm on build 10.0.15063.447 and I've tried the following:

  • Running SFC /scannow - No integrity violations found
  • Running the Windows Update Troubleshooter - Found and fixed issues... Windows Update still doesn't work even after a reboot
  • Running the WuReset script mentioned in another thread - Runs through the entire script, reboot the computer and... you guessed it Windows Update still doesn't work.

The error code mentions something to do with WSUS servers when looking it up online but my Surface Pro 4 has never been connected to a network that has a WSUS server.

My only option now is a complete format and reinstall of Windows to see if that fixes the problem, something that I really do NOT want to do.

Microsoft Xbox One X, Microsoft Surface Pro 4, ASUS fx505dy, Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, Windows 10 Home 64-bit

Same error code, same version. I think it's better to wait before thinking about complete format, possibly a server-side issue.

Same error code, same version, again. I can almost confirm that the server got something wrong.
