Windows 10 Upgrade resulted in loss of my Corel WinDVD Blu-ray disk player on my Toshiba Satellite Laptop.

I "upgraded" to Windows 10 from Windows 7 on my Toshiba Satellite laptop. As a result of upgrading to Windows 10, I am unable to run/play any Blu-ray DVDs. The program that I used to play Blu-ray DVDs was Corel WinDVD BD, but the program does not appear to be compatible with the Windows 10 version. I've tried to fix the problem by selecting "Run compatibility troubleshooter" option from the Properties drop-down menu. The message I got said Corel WinDVD is incompatible with Windows 10.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Are there any free drivers or Windows 10-compatible Blu-Ray DVD media players that I can download? I would love to watch Blu-Ray DVDs on my laptop again.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Regards,

Allan Yu

Hello,

My new operating system is Windows 10. Under the "Run this program in compatibility mode" drop down list, Windows 10 is not an option. Should I select Windows 8, which is the latest/newest option on the list. Also, please tell me why I lost the Corel WinDVD Blu-ray player application after I upgraded to the Windows 10 Operating System?

Thanks,
Allan

Hi,

Thank you for the update.

I suggest you to run the program in Windows 8 compatibility mode and check if it helps.

Programs which might not be compatible with Windows 10 will be deleted during the upgrade process.

Let us know if you need further assistance. We will be happy to help.

Thank you.

I am still unable to get retrieve my "Corel WinDVD" Blu-ray player application after I upgraded to the Windows 10 Operating System several months ago. I've tried running the program in Windows 7 and Windows 8 compatibility modes, but the program is still lost.

Please explain to me why I lost my "Corel WinDVD" Blu-ray player software after I upgraded to Windows 10???

I've also noticed that the sound quality on my laptop is terrible since the upgrade. Please explain why the sound quality is so bad now???

We appreciate your time and effort to getting back to us, sorry to know that you are still facing this issue.

Most applications and hardware drivers designed for Windows 7/8 should work with Windows 10. Of course, with significant changes expected in Windows 10, it is best you contact the software developer and hardware vendor to find out about support for Windows 10. Windows 10 setup will keep, upgrade, replace and might require that you install new drivers through Windows Update or from the manufacturers website.

Refer the below article How to: Install and Update drivers in Windows 10

Hope the information is helpful, let us know the status of the issue. We will be glad to assist you.

Hi

Same problem.  My computer upgraded to Windows 10 and Corel WinDVD worked.  On Sunday/ Monday this week there was an update, with the result that Corel Win DVD is no longer working.  Why? And what can be done to solve it?

Thanks

Hey

This has happened to me too. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program also but it has only reinstalled without being able to actually run the program. Have tried to alter the compatibility settings as suggested above but still no result.

It would be great to hear from someone who knows what could be wrong...

Have you visited the Corel website to download any service packs available? WinDVD 11 has updates for Windows 10.

Same problem, and if preinstalled Coral WinDVD BD is older version then Win DVD 11 then they want you to purchase Win dvd 11 to work in windows 10 since previous versions do not work. Since I upgraded to Windows 10 I have found it will cost me a lot to get programs that worked in Win 7 and win 8.1 that were deleted by win 10 upgrade. Ugh and frustrated since I do a ton of video editing for High school sports.
