I have an HP Pavilion Notebook product number N5Y58UA#ABL.
I am presently using Windows 10 1607 and everything seems to work. Every day I get a notice that the system can't install the update to Windows 10 1709.
Yesterday and today I received a message that I need to upgrade to Windows 10 1709 to install new security features. Then the update just starts and runs for two hours. I believe it is the Windows 10 Update Assistant. The app will download and get to 82%
installed and then I get the error code 0xc1900208.
After going online and reading some of the Microsoft forums, I believe there is an issue with the Hewlett Packard BIOS that is not compatible with Windows 10 1709. Apparently Hewlett Packard and Microsoft have chosen not to work together to fix the issue.
I just want to use my laptop every day without having to wait two hours for this forced update to attempt and fail. At this point I don't care if I ever upgrade to Windows 10 1709.
Any ideas?
There is a BIOS update on HP's website for this make and model released in May of 2017:

You might want to apply that if you want to do the upgrade.
If don't want to do the upgrade, here is how you can block it:
