I tried both fixes and neither of them was successful in dealing with the problem.  When trying to move or delete a media file that was put on the drive before the windows 10 update, Invalid ms-dos function is the result.  Someone has to know what is causing this, any help is welcome!  Thanks.

Suffering from the same problem neither of the fixes work, this is the fifth major bug I've had to attempt to trouble shoot with Windows 10 and I only installed it this morning.  Also had problems with one drive (not fixed), Cortana (not fixed despite much tinkering), saving to my documents (partially resolved) and problems with my wireless adapter (resolved through un installing and reinstalling the drivers).  Any help would be good please!

I'm also getting the invalid ms-dos function in several situations.  One example is trying to move or delete a picture out of my desktop background folder.  Neither posted fix helps me.

Can't explain this, but tried this again the next day.  Now everything is working fine.  Puzzled, but at least it's working.

there is a reason no one has marked this "helpful"... it is NOT helpful.

Many users (me included) are having the invalid ms-dos error message since upgrade to Win 10...

what's the story morning glory?

does MS really know what is going on here... system file check (SFC) says all is good...

I have not tried the "create a new user" workaround, but why the heck do i have to create a new user to fix something that should not be broken?

come on MS... give us a REAL answer that WORKS, please.
