Windows 10 Creator Update error 0x80070017

My computer has been upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 10 since the upgrade offer came out. Today, I am trying to run the Creator Upgrade. The download process took about 40 minutes, then the verification mode started. It proceeded to 76% then failed three times. Each failure presented a "0x80070017" error. The upgrade process would not proceed from that point. How do I resolve this error so I can complete the upgrade?

I am running the upgrade using the computer's Admin account and doing the upgrade exclusively.

As I noted earlier, replacing the drive would be the next step if repairing did not help. You would have wanted to replace the drive even if the repair had temporarily cleared the error.

Yes, it is very true that "The Update will not proceed with this issue present." That would seem obvious though.

You can type "Data error (cyclic redundancy check)" into your favorite search engine to look at what others have done when faced with this issue.
