Windows 10 blocking McAfee

My Dell XPS has just installed the following updates:

2017-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4019472)

Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool for Windows 8, 8.1, 10 and Windows Server 2012, 2012 R2, 2016 x64 Edition - May 2017 (KB890830)

2017-05 Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4020821)

Security Update for Microsoft Word 2010 (KB3191843) 64-Bit Edition

Security Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB3118310) 64-Bit Edition

Security Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB3191899) 64-Bit Edition

and now my McAfee LiveSafe, which came with the laptop and is still valid, is being blocked by Windows 10 saying the published is unverified. I can't remove the publisher name from the unverified list as the remove button is greyed out. Incidentally a lot of other antivirus programs listed as unverified.

I've been in touch with McAfee and they remotely tried to fix the issue but said it's wasn't a McAfee software problem

I've been in touch with Dell and after much ado they did a system restore which temporarily resolved the issue until the windows updates were installed again.

Clearly this is a Microsoft program issue which is leaving me without any system protection.

Some assistance would be appreciated.

Hi Justin,

Let's try to isolate the issue. Since McAfee is not working after the recent update and only works when you perform a system restore, the current version of your McAfee is not yet compatible for the new update of Windows 10. We suggest that you update McAfee or contact them directly and ask for the version that is compatible for the new Windows 10 update.

Regards.

Hi,

I just had a Windows 10 update, and now my McAfee LiveSafe keeps displaying 'At risk!' warning despite all the updates and checks. What's going on? This kind of thing is completely unacceptable in 2017 - updates from corporations like Microsoft shouldn't mess up users' computers and interfere with the software by other companies that's already been working well and happy in those computers.

My laptop was working so fine before this update. Now even the Edge browser won't open sites like Microsoft support or McAfee support for example (I managed to write here from another computer - a Macintosh). I'm quickly losing my 20+ year support for Microsoft and Windows (Windows XP was your greatest moment, I have to say).

Regards.
