Hello I am a fellow community member here to help. I am not certain what this is. Could you clarify where and when you are seeing this name?

Thanks

Is this a second hand computer you bought or previously owned?

If its previously owned, then, a previous user might have had an account on the system.

See steps to delete the account.

Press Windows key + R

Hit Enter
Open User accounts
Click Manager another account
Click Danny De Young
Click Delete the account

Just to be safe, change your password and scan the system.

Click Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features

Select it then click uninstall

Press Windows key + X
Click Task Manager > Startup
Look for any suspicious apps that might be starting up with the system.
Select each then click Disable

Press Windows key + R
Type: msconfig
Hit Enter

Go to the services tab
Check the box, hide all Microsoft services

Disable the remaining services

Click Apply then OK

Restart if prompted

New notebook PC about 12 months old (Acer).

Sure this account wasn't in there before the recent Windows update.

Well, delete it.

Do you live with other people or work in an open environment where others might have access to your computer?

Is your computer password protected?

Please perform the scan and also change your account privilege to Standard.

Its also possible you visited a website that caused a remote attacker to create a user account.

I have been looking into this for you. The name you are seeing if for a retail/demo account meant to be used when the PC is setup for display in a store. Please see the following guide to remove the demo account

Please let me know if this works for you

QUick update;

I don't think it's an actual account. It is not listed in the user data.

However, there are user folders. And it's Darrin, not Danny (my bad).

If I try to access the folders I get "don't have permissions".

Using admin powershell, this is the documents folder.

-a----       23/12/2016   5:56 PM        5496703 Travel Budget Consumer.xlsx
-a----       23/12/2016   5:56 PM        6501990 Travel Presentation.pptx
-a----       23/12/2016   5:56 PM        5853912 US Travel Adventures.docx

Trying to delete I get (example)

+ del "Darrin DeYoung"
+ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    + CategoryInfo          : PermissionDenied: (ActivationStore.dat.LOG2:FileInfo) [Remove-Item], IOException
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : RemoveFileSystemItemUnAuthorizedAccess,Microsoft.PowerShell.Commands.RemoveItemCommand
del : Directory C:\users\Darrin DeYoung\AppData\Local\Packages\4DF9E0F8.Netflix_mcm4njqhnhss8\4DF9E0F8.Netflix_6.4.30.0
_x64__mcm4njqhnhss8\ActivationStore cannot be removed because it is not empty.

That makes sense. The computer was the last one in store on the day and was being used as a demo, which got me a good price.

So they deleted the user account but left the folders.

Thanks for that.
