After I updated Bios I then updated chipset as went through individually in device manager everything which was a lot of devices since windows 10 home is incapable of updating again. I then reinstalled my eset antivirus and I still get a couple of recommended & one optimal updates being - Dell Inc – Bus Controller and Ports, Display – Dell P2211H (Analog),

Intel – Other hardware – Intel(R) Watchdog Timer Driver (Intel(R) WDT),

Microsoft Silverlight (KB3126036)

Hello,

Thanks for the update.

Are you able to install the system updates after updating the BIOS and chipset drivers?

If you are still not able to install system updates, Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with windows Updates. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if it helps to install the pending updates.

Refer these steps:

1. Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.

1. Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.

2. Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.

3. Run the Windows update troubleshooter.

Hope the information helps. Do reply if you need further assistance.

Thank you.

If you are still looking to update "Intel – Other hardware – Intel(R) Watchdog Timer Driver (Intel(R) WDT)" I stumbled across the answer for my ASUS k-55A laptop with same update.

The way to find this update is go to Device Manager-System Devices (go view in menu and click "show hidden devices". You should see one or several listing for "Motherboard device" under Intel Management Engine Interface. Click on each one and choose update driver software. One of these will update your intel Watchdog timer driver.

This is mine after update.

I've done all this and there's nowhere intel watchdog ( i have a lenovo Y50-70 laptop)

Do you have intel Management Engine Components software installed?

I believe that this intel watchdog update arrives after I have done clean install of OS then I will get it with some MS updates to that OS version.

Also, have you run Microsoft's "wu show hide drivers" diagcab file -(KB3073930) to see if this intel watchdog update is hidden.

Thank you. This really works. Simply do update for each of them and one of them corresponds to Intel Watchdog timer.

But I am curious about what the remaining Motherboard devices are and do I need to install the updates for them?

Moreover, I googled and see that there is a "RAID controller" driver provided by intel. But my computer never installed that, nor does Windows do it automatically for me. Should I install this driver?

I have a ASUS X550JX.

Thank you again.

Best way to find out if you have chipset update still not installed is run Microsoft "show or hide update'" troubleshooter. I use this troubleshooter everday to see if there is Windows Defender update ready for installation.
