Software Distribution folder

The software distribution folder is appearing on my extra drive where I have my user files pointing to, how do I direct windows 10 to put update materials onto the C drive where the system folder is?

Open Start, type: CMD
Right click CMD
Click Run as administrator

2. At the command prompt, type “net stop WuAuServ” (without quotations) and press Enter.

3. Click Start, type “%windir%” (without quotations) in the Start Search box and press Enter.

4. Look for the folder named “SoftwareDistribution” .

5. Delete the folder.

6. Open command prompt, type in the command “net start WuAuServ” (without quotations) and press Enter to restart the Automatic Updates service.

Resetting Windows updates should do this for you.
Try resetting Windows updates using an automatic script. See:

Make sure you run the script as an administrator.
