Quickbooks will not open after Win 10 update

You may try to run the Windows Compatibility troubleshooter to make sure that the version of you QuickBooks is compatible with the currently installed Windows 10.

If the issue persist after running the Compatibility troubleshooter, kindly provide us the build and version of your Windows 10 by following these steps:

1. On your keyboard, press Windows + R.
2. Type winver, and press Enter.

I could restore an older backup, or reinstall/repair Windows, but will it be worth the effort?

PS, I repaired .netframework. I had a MS tech on chat remote in. He's the one that told me MS is aware of the issue.

I also had a problem with Mailwaser Pro not opening. I found and removed all the Windows updates I could (2) then removed and reinstalled Mailwasher. It worked. I tried the same with QBs, No luck.

The issue with QuickBooks that Microsoft is aware of is way back May 23, 2018—KB4100403 (OS Build 17134.81), and this might be the information the Microsoft agent wants to tell you. However, a fix was released on June 12, 2018—KB4284835 (OS Build 17134.112) a couple of updates after.

For now, it'll be best to install the latest Windows update on your device which was released last August 30, 2018—KB4346783 (OS Build 17134.254).

If the issue persist after installing the latest build. we would like to know if your computer connected to a network domain? If so, it could be that there might be permissions that needs correction, or that needs amendment to be able for you to use the full functionality of your QuickBooks. Installed KB4346783, uninstalled and reinstalled QBs. QBs still won't open.
