password not working for advanced start-up login

Windows 10 Pro 1903 build 18632.329)

I need to uninstall the latest update from windows 10 (kb4512941) to test an issue occurring with a virtual machine (whole separate issue than this one), but when I put in my password when asked at the advanced startup screen, it rejects my password. I am using an Microsoft account to login to my PC. I have double and triple checked the password I typed in, and I was indeed typing it in correctly, but it gets rejected as being the wrong password. I had to back out of the process since I could not log in, and once windows booted up, I had windows switch form asking for my PIN to ask for my password, and I entered it letter for letter the same as I had before, and it got accepted. I don't understand what is going on here. I can use he password to log in to windows normally, and into the MS account site, and here, but not when I need to access the advanced startup features (accessed by pressing shift during restart of windows OR by going to settings>Update & Security>Recovery>Advanced Startup). I have peeked at the password when it was rejected and it was correct. Is there another password I am unaware of that is required?

none of those suggestions will affect the login process of the recovery console. normal log in is not the issue. it is logging in WHILE using the recovery mode. i want to use the recovery modes uninstall recent update feature, but can bot, because it will not accept my (correctly input) password. normally logging into windows either in safe mode or normally, poses no issue.

I have temporarily bypassed the issue by going into Local Security Policy with in Administrative Tools and going to Security Settings> Local Policies> Security Options> Recovery console: Allow automatic administrative logon and enabling the option. I would still like to solve the issue that is causing the problem in the first case. the workaround is just a band-aid fix

At the command prompt, type:
net user administrator /active:yes

Hit Enter

Close command prompt, restart, then try signing into the Administrator account.

Restart in the recovery environment then check if you can log in.

what does MS use as the default password for the ADMIN account? I can not find it listed anywhere online, and I do not know it. I also did not set one.

I ended up doing a factory restore because i listened too some bad advice, and used blackbird security software, which tottaly trashed my windows experience. I was unable to undo all the changes it made, so i just did a factory restore. Unfortunetly, i have run into the same issue once again, only in safe mode.

As part of getting my system set backup how i like it, i tried to enable the memory integrity option in windows defender. But windows kept saying there was a incompatibilty and would not turn on . Sothe feature i turned on verifier and told it to check for code integrity, but after the system rebooted, the system would start to load Windows, and the it would reboot. Attempts to access safe mode, were also failing. It wasn't until i selected uninstall updates>uninstall latest cumulative update, that ti made any progress. The operation strangely, took me back to the factory installed 1803. I was able too boot now though. When i booted, once I reached the desktop, after a few seconds the expected bsod from verfier occured. It showed that a driver used by the logitech hub software and my mouse as the cause. I tried to go into safe mode to then disable the offending software, but safe mode won't take my password. I have triple checked my password by using the reveal icon, and the password ad stored in chrome on my phone (which is where i am typing now) and while the passwords match letter for letter, safemode won't accept the password.

So... Is it possible to disable verifier while wondows is offline, using the recovery console?

Is it possible that the fact i have my ms account setup for 2-factor authentication using the MS authenticator (for android) is the reason i am unable to login ( no network connection for aurhentication)

So i am stuck at the moment with a $1400 doorstop. Hopefully someone here can help me turn it back into a working PC.

I had hoped disconnecting the mouse would stop the offending driver (logi_joy_vir_hid.sys) from loading, but no joy on that. Looks like it loads regardless of whether i have logitech hardware plugged in or not. I also tried logging into windows using the same password i used in safemode (as opposed to using my pin to login) and the password worked. So i do not know why it is not accepting it in safemode

On a whim, i tried safemode using comkand prompt, and ran into same issue, but when i tried safe mode with networking my password got accepted! This has to be sone sort if bug with windows 10 1903. I checked the issue with 1803, and it does not occur as far as i can tell.
