KB3093266) - Error 0x8e5e0147

Unable to download and or install  update for windows 10 for x64 based Systems. 

KB3093266) - Error 0x8e5e0147 antivirus program disabled. no help, fixed the update system no help,

even though when I ran windows update troubleshot program it tells me that windows update components must be repaired nad informs me that it is fixed and completed. Then if I ran it again it tells me exactly the same thing that must repaired and that the repair is been completed.

If the issue persists, try in Clean Boot.

Performed a clean boot no help although one changed has happened, In the windows update troubleshooting I did ran while in clean boot, did not find errors and when I returned to normal boot it did not find any errors either but still I cannot download the update (no firewall or Kaspersky antivirus)

Hi,

Run the system file checker 3 times to make sure that all the corrupt file issues are corrected.

Type "sfc /scannow" and press Enter.

However, you can run a DISM scan to resolve system file issues.

Follow the steps below:

  1. Press Windows key + X and click onCommand Prompt (Admin). Kindly provide the administrative password, if prompt appears.
  2. Type Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth and click Enter.
  3. Type Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth and click Enter. 
  4. Type Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and click Enter.

(Steps for Windows 8.1 are also applicable for Windows 10)

Try reset Windows Update Components, by following the steps mentioned in the article.

Just some random actions to perform? Is there the possibility too, to follow any analytical approach here? How dare you just propose any time consuming steps to follow w/o any knowledge about the actual problem is. Thanks.

I experienced the problem with upgrading errors, but after doing the tasks from above, which didn't immediately help solving the issues, booting the system after some days and re-attempting update, everything looks quite different. Now there are additional updates available (KB3097617, KB3093266) and it worked now directly to download and install, no further actions taken. Feeling a bit creepy/observed here. How can it probably be..

If the actions did help, then thanks to the author of this instructions. Probably an additional restart did the job; best possible analysis I can offer about a complete blackbox system giving no useful information at all.

After successful update and restart, again the generic error for cumulative update (KB3093266, Error 0x80004005) is shown. Seems like I was just a little too quick in my last post. I assume that the actual bug is just that this message is shown.

But we'll try again later... Until it disappears. Something for next week's list.

Yes if you  grab the update and do it local it works... saves a lot of hair by doing this..
