Error Code 0x80070032

Ran into error code 0x80070032 when trying to update Windows 10 with the recent Anniversary update.

The update downloads fine, either via automatic update or a direct download from Microsoft.  However, when trying to restart, the update will not activate and gives me the above code.  I've had no trouble with Windows 10 upgrade since I installed it earlier this year, and auto security updates are installing with no problem.

I've tried a clean reboot, and even a restart in Safe Mode, with no luck.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi,

I appreciate you for trying some steps in order to get the issue fixed.

If your computer is having problems finding and installing operating system updates, try using the Windows Update Troubleshooter to fix the problem. It makes sure that your computer is connected to the Internet, and checks to see whether your network adapter and Windows Update services are running correctly.

I would request you to run the Windows update troubleshooter and check if it helps.

Run the Windows Update troubleshooter and see if it helps.

a: Press Windows logo to open the search box.
b: Type troubleshooting, hit enter.

c: Now click System and Security.

d: Now click Windows Update .

Please revert if you have any issues with anniversary update not getting installed.

Thank you.
