Unfortunately, that thread did not contain a solution, just a bunch of people saying they successfully received the update.

This thread is about folks who, when trying to update to Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4016252), they receive Error 0x80073715, which includes myself and the update is not installed.

I got the same error.

Solved it by just manually patching this update.

Open cmd or powershell: 

dism /online /add-package /packagepath:"D:\System\windows10.0-kb4016252-x64_46554ff4d8b980083092d84a8bd64810c13015cf.cab"

This is strange - it successfully installed 2 days ago, and it is in the log, but since then I changed from Inside Fast to Insider Release Preview, and it seems to be attempting to install again, but fails with that error 0x80073715

I got this KB installed and deinstalled.... and so one.

But he error is not gone
