I have bought a Lenovo Laptop one year ago with Windows 10 already installed.
This morning I tried to boot windows and was prompted to enter a recovery key
I have absolutely no idea why this happened and how I could get this key.
I contacted windows support and they told me I have to contact the manufacturer.
Then I contacted Lenovo (the manufacturer) and they told me they cannot recover the key and gave me a link to my Microsoft account where this key could be stored, but unfortunately it isn't.
Does anyone have an idea how I could possibly recover my windows installation without having to wipe it (I have no backup), that is how I could find out where this key is stored and if it is stored somewhere at all where I could retrieve it.
Please let me know if you have any information on this and how to recover if possible.
I Could it be that the manufacturer has saved it on a recovery partition or similar?
