Adminstrator account is locked out of Windows 10

After creating a local PC account on my personal home PC, I was not able to change anymore setting in my PC.  I was asked to go to Administrator to enter a password but this field does not offer option to i) key in password or to ii) make changes to settings on the PC.

Some apps also stop responsding altogether.

1) How can I reboot or relaod the entire Microsfot window since there is no disk?

2) How to get back to adminstrator setting when there is no option to log into Administrator

Hi,

Do not worry, you can try the steps below and check if you are able to use the computer without any issues.

You do not have to reload Windows. In order to make changes to the computer, you should log in with administrator(admin) account or you should enter the password for admin account.

Restart the computer and check.

Also, check for Windows updates.

Try to run the following commands and check if it helps.

  1.  Type CMD in Search. Right click on it to run as an administrator.
  2. Type the following 4 commands at the CMD prompt:

WSReset.exe.

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

sfc /scannow

powershell

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

  1. Close the CMD window.
  2. Check to see if the issue is resolved. If not, restart the PC.

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files:
