Windows 10 update broke my computer

A windows update started to download and then installed. Since the auto update thing i have no idea what update it was. After it did its this screen popped up  It then did its thing and then went to diagnostic and repair screen after it was done the next screen After it did that it suggested to do a system restore point. Which once again it started did its thing but then i got another error which looked like this Then the it started back to start windows 10 normally which bring me back to the first error screen and round i go. I have tried putting a install disk to repair it from the media creation tool kit but when i put it in and choose to boot from dvd/cd drive it came up with the repair screen. I would prefer to do a way where i can keep my files if possible. Also this windows 10 was from a 8.1 upgrade. Thank you to all that help.

Hi,

Please perform the following steps to verify if your recovery partition is corrupted or not:

  1. Restart your computer, and once it's booting up, press F9 repeatedly.
  2. Select Troubleshoot.
  3. Select Reset this PC.
  4. Select Keep my files to back up your files.
  5. Once done, follow the instructions that will be provided and start the clean installation.

Note: If the errors still recur, you may proceed with the clean installation using the disc. Please be advised that this can't backup your files.

Let us know how it went.

Yes, that is the screen you should be seeing. From there, click Troubleshoot and follow the steps provided above.

Before I made a DVD installtion disc using the windows media creation tool. But when i put the dvd in and clicked "use a device" then clicked on "UEFI:CD/DVD Drive: it did not work just the same screens. Then I turned off the computer restarted it trying it that way. I am making a UDB one right now to see if that will work but if it doesnt what do I do next.

This has happend to my PC too. The last W10 update removed the boot partion, and thus the OS. So I can't restore or reset my OS because it's been removed.

You might have to do a fresh install too as that trouble shoot thing does not work. and if this fixes one problem i hope it fixes the other problem of my GPU being detected.

Have you tried clicking Troubleshoot first instead of Use a device? You need to click Troubleshoot first to be able to follow the steps provided on my first response.

Keep us posted.

I know you guys have a sheet you fall on for replies, and a shift manager breathing down your neck. But this is not helpful in any way. How do I get back the exe bootable area of my HDD that was deleted as a result of an update?
