Error status 0xc0000020 Windows 10

I installed windows 10 on my computer about a month ago. Ever since the install things seem to run very slow. But then starting a couple days ago I lost connection to my router and any fix I try to do results in error status 0xc0000020. I cannot restore or recover anything without getting the same error status.

I don't have a functioning start button - that has failed too.  How can I Right Click Start Menu when the start button is not functioning?  Is there another way to follow this remedy?

What do I do now to fix the start button AND remedy the 0xc0000020 errors.  Also, my driver that allows me to download my photos has stopped working.  How do I fix that too?

I have been struggling since before Christmas following the advice on all the help lists but seem to have not gotten anywhere but further backwards.

HELP!

Hi,

I have had this same problem. I did steps 1 and 2. It worked well, but at 95.8% it gave me Error 193. It also said -- 1% is not a valid Win32 application. There are also several C:\ Windows  prompts.

Can you help me finish restoring the computer windows?

Thank you,

Joy

Hi Microsoft,

I received an email re this problem, which looks like it is a copy of a reply to the person who first instigated it??

I still have the problem which, for me, started around the time of MS updates in September 2017.

I have done Step 1 & Step 2 above but no change.

Here is text of my error message:

ismagent.exe - Bad Image
C:\Program Files(x86)\Intel\IntelAppStore\bin\QtCore4.dll is either not
designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the
program again using the original installation media or contact your
system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status

00xc0000020.

Most of the files in this folder are dated Aug / Sept of 2012 and the .dll file itself shows 0 bytes.

My guess is that the folder was part of the original installation on my Laptop which is a Toshiba Satellite P855.

What do you recommend now?

Thanks, Neil

Hi.

Had same problem, searched a lot, could not find solution.

Finally, upgraded to the new Fall Edition of 10, and all of a sudden, all problems resolved in a single go.

Hope this helps.

Check if that update is successful. It should show Windows 10, version 1709

Follow this link to perform the upgrade of win 10 to Fall Creators Update:
