Bcd Repair - The requested system device cannot be found - windows 10

My computer was on sleep mode and my sister plugged it off. I restarted my computer to see that an error message said " you pc needs ti be repaired " and something abour rhe boot configuration data being missing. So i researched and found a tutorial on how to fix the bcd.  i typed "bootrec rebuildbcd" on cmd from the windows recovery media advanced options and came up with

"Scanning all disks for Windows installations. Please wait, since this may take a while... Successfully scanned Windows installations. Total identified Windows installations: 1 [1] D:\Windows Add installation to boot list? Yes<Y>/No<N>/All<A>:"
I typed in "yes" however it said  "the requested system device cannot be found." Unfortunately i cant find the solution to this ! Any help???????

Hello Amaan,

Thank you for posting your concern in Microsoft Community and welcome to the Windows 10 Family.

We appreciate the time and effort you have put in to resolve the issue. I would like to assist you with further information from here.

This error can happen if you are booting from a USB stick, and your BIOS supports a given usb slot, but the windows Repair Environment does not. So I would suggest you to try a different USB slot and check if similar issue occurs

Please write to us with the updated status of the issue and we would be happy to help you.

Thank you.

I was starting from a USB stick and none of the suggestions here helped me.  After HOURS of searching and efforts, I found this web page and Fix #5 finally saved the day for me.

Because your boot option is BIOS/MBR not UEFI.
UEFI has FAT32 system partition

BIOS/MBR NTFS
