Windows 10 recognizes wrong monitor for touch input

Hello,

I am using 5 monitors on windows 10 of which one is a touchscreen. When making a touch input, the cursor reacts always on the primary display, no matter what I do. I have already setup the touchscreen via "Tablet-PC settings" setup, however even after this, the touch input is still always recognized on the primary display.

This had previously worked. I had set up the configuration through "Tablet-PC settings", and my touch inputs were being recognized on the touch monitor. This is not the first time that the setup seemingly randomly doesn't work anymore. I haven't changed anything about my setup. Why won't the Tablet PC settings setup process recognize my touchscreen as the correct location to display my touch inputs?

My name is Andre Da Costa; an Independent Consultant, Windows Insider MVP and Windows & Devices for IT MVP. I'm here to help you with your problem.

Try switching the touch screen monitor to become the primary then switch it back to see if it resolves the problem.

Hello Andre,

unfortunately, this does not resolve the issue. Upon switching the touchscreen to primary, windows now recognizes the inputs on the touchscreen. Switching the actual primary display back to its original primary role reverts the changes immediately, and I am back to where I started.

Do you have a hint on how to identify which monitor is the one I want to deactivate? They are all called PnP-Monitor (standard) and plugged into the same graphics card.

edit: never mind, i trialed and errored it.

You best option is to disconnect or uninstall all of them then restart, Windows 10 will automatically detect them.

You can also right click each monitor then click Update driver.

Unfortunately, this has also not worked. I have also repeated your first suggestion, to no avail.

Everyone on the web states Tablet PC settings setup wizard as the tool that ended up helping them setting their desired touchscreen configuration. I have used it before - I just don't understand why it would just stop working randomly...?

Which version of Windows 10 is currently installed? See how to verify:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wik...

If you have not yet upgraded to Windows 10 1903, try doing so to see if it resolves the problem.

Go to the following page then click 'Update Now'

If you have already...

I would also recommend you submit a feature request; send me the short link so I can vote on it and bring it to the attention of the Windows engineers.
