Question

Q: Windows 10 start menu stuck in full screen

After upgrading from 8 to 10, I had one nice day of the start menu. Then, on the second day, as I went to shut down the computer, my finger stuttered near the power options on the start menu before shutting down, and for some reason the start menu went full screen. I have not been able to get it back to the normal start menu. I have found the start menu settings and toggled the full screen option off and on repeatedly, even tried shutting down and restarting after each change, but the start menu remains stuck at full screen. I have removed all of the tiles from the start menu, still no change.

(Worse yet, I cannot go to my desktop AT ALL now - at least with Win 8 I could still toggle to the desktop with Alt-Tab or the start key. All Alt-Tab does now is toggle between the full screen start menu and running programs.)

I've searched high and low for 24 hours for a solution to this problem. Please help!

Answer

A:

have you tried to turn off the Tablet Mode from the Notification bottom right?

Did this solve your problem?
