Windows 10: Missing desktop screen

One day I decided to reset my computer, and to my surprise, my desktop was completely missing. I clicked on the start button but nothing happened, so I opened File Explorer through Task Manager, and double clicked on Desktop. A popup came up that read: "C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disc is inserted, and then try again. If the location is on a network, make sure you're connected to the network or internet, then try again. If the location still can't be found, it might've been moved or deleted.

How the heck do I get my desktop back? All I did was reset my computer after doing a scan with malware bytes..

I have had this same problem several times now. It also doesn't detect the second monitor, even though that's where the taskbar was. So far, turning off, waiting a bit & restarting has helped, though it sometimes takes several tries.
