For the past week or so when I start my computer my browser automatically opens to MSN page. I am assuming that it is probably due to a windows update. How do I stop this occurring?

Not having received a satisfactory reply here I widened my search and found the following which appears to work.
Type regedit in the search field (or "Ask me anything" field) and select the highlighted regedit from the options displayed.
Navigate to the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NlaSvc\Parameters\Internet\
Double Click on EnableActiveProbing
Change the Value from 1 to 0 (ie. from One to Zero)
Restart the computer

You are looking in 'Startup" for Windows which has nothing to do with 'Startup' in your browser!!
Q1. Which browser are you using?
Depending on which browser, you need to look in your browser 'Settings' and look the setting that controls which web page you can set to open up when your browser starts!!!!!
You have not advised what actions you have done to rectify problem?
If you have done that then please advise?
This what you are looking for in Edge >
Alas we humans do fail!!!!

The default browser was opening during startup and going to MSN page.
What ever browser I set as my default browser (Chrome, Edge or Internet Explorer) was opening when I started the computer and going directly to MSN page. It was not going to the default page set for the browser. I have blank page set as the default.
Changing the registry entry to disallow probing as per my explanation in previous post fixed the problem and my browser no longer opens at MSN page during computer startup.
The problem commenced after the last Microsoft Update and that is what made me think that Microsoft changed something.
