Microsoft tiles are losing icons in Windows 10

I found a few close posts, but they're locked.

First Skype's icon in the systray began disappearing, now the Office icons are missing from their tiles. In both cases, the tiles and systray are still work, they're just blank. In the case of the menu tiles, they have the appropriate color just no image.

I've seen the threads say something about "command prompt (admin)" on the system menu, but that doesn't exist. There's only Powershell (Admin) and my understanding is that Powershell is not the same as the command prompt.

How do we fix this Microsoft bug?

Hi, ithinktfiam

Follow these steps:

1. Press the Windows + X keys and select Command Prompt

2. In the console write the following commands, pressing Enter after each of them (or copy and paste one by one, see the blanks):

    cd AppData \ Local

    attrib -h -r -s *. * / s / d

    from IconCache.db

3. Restart the user session, or the system.

Display driver? Sorry, but that makes zero sense. If it was the display driver, all the icons would disappear or there would be random ones missing. It's very clear that it's only Microsoft software that is messing up. It's an MS issue and MS needs to address it.

As for Windows Explorer, again, tell me why that would mess up the Start Menu's and the systray's display of only Microsoft applications.
