Unable to access desktop in Windows 10

Hi All

From yesterday, i am unable to access my desktop. When the windows start up this is how the screen shows up. Win+D shortcut also doesn't work. Any idea why this is happening?

PS : Installed Win 10 in  my laptop

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to the community - let's try a few settings to see if any addresses your issue of not being able to access your desktop.  It looks like you might either be in Tablet mode or have the Start Screen set to full.

1) Click the Action Center icon on the taskbar just to the left of the date/time. Do you happen to have the Tablet button selected?

If you aren't in Tablet mode:

2) Click the Start Menu and choose Settings, then:

  • Under Personalization - Start, check if the "Use Start full screen" is On or Off.  It looks like it might be On, so perhaps toggling this option might help.

3) Are you able to show the Desktop using the show desktop button that is on the bottom right of the taskbar, to the right of the date/time?

Regards,

Jaime

I wasted lot of time to know why I was unable to see my desktop. I found reply here and it was really helpful. By Turning off tablet mode , you can see your desktop and other features.

Thanks for help.

I have the same problem with the desktop though can access it through File Explorer. The file explorer now shows the list of files double spaced, many screens cannot be minimised or reduced (no minimise or reduce buttons) and some cannot be closed (e.g. settings). The Action centre icon has been replaced by a Touch Keypad icon and there is no Show Desktop button.
