Taskbar icons are blank for some apps

I have problems again with Windows 10, even though I really like it. This time, my icons are messed up when I open some apps. There are blank sheets and no matter what I do, they won't change.

Here is a screenshot from my taksbar. From left to right, the apps I opened are Store, Groove Music and Mail. There are other apps that behave the same.

I suggest that you try the steps below and check if it helps

1. Close and save anything that you are working on before proceeding. The next steps will involve killing explorer and restarting the PC.
2. Open a command prompt.
3. Copy and paste each command below one at a time into the command prompt, and press Enter after each command.

ie4uinit.exe -ClearIconCache
taskkill /IM explorer.exe /F

I'm not sure what this did, but it didn't solve the problem for me. Any other suggestions?

Type the following in the Powershell prompt:

  1. Wait for PowerShell to execute and complete the command. Ignore the few errors (in red color) that may pop up.
  2. When it finishes, try hitting Start and hopefully it’ll start working.

Please reply with the results. I will be glad to help you further.

Thank you.

One of those methods messed up my apps. I can't even open them up now. The problem is that there are lots of apps that have this problem, including Camera, Photos, Calculator, Maps and so on.

And I checked the other apps that are not on this list, like Groove, Store, Mail, and NONE OF THEM ARE WORKING!
