Hi Kathie,

Thank you replying back with the status of this issue.

I suggest you to add Microsoft Edge in startup folder and check if it helps.

1.    Press Windows + R on the keyboard.

2.    In the Run command type "%userprofile%" without quotes.

3.    Navigate to the following location
AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

4.     If Microsoft Edge is not added, try to add the shortcut of Microsoft Edge to that folder to start the program on startup.

Do let us know the status.

I will have to search Google for the answer. As usual, Microsoft has not understood that we want to open Edge instead of Explorer. Who is answering questions for them?

I just created a .bat file to be initiated when I use my Leap Motion controller and the application Handwave - but it can be used to run programs at start, too. I am not going to explain the details of simple steps for brevity's sake. You might try searching for answers on how to do them. In this comment I have replaced the username on my computer with <USER>.

Make sure you can see the file type extensions of files.

Create a new .txt file. It may be named anything you like.

Each line of this file will read: Start "" ""

My line to start Outlook directly references the application. It does like this: Start "" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\OUTLOOK.EXE"

My line to start Microsoft Edge cannot reference the application directly, because I could not find it. Instead I used the tutorial on this site to make a shortcut which opens MS Edge. The shortcut is located in a safe place. In this case, the "Start Menu" folder. My shortcut is named "EDGESHORT." My shortcut points to: C:\Windows\explorer.exe shell:AppsFolder\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe!MicrosoftEdge

Instead of referencing the application, I reference the shortcut. To do this I need to list its location and name: Start "" "C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\EDGESHORT"

Now that you have a line in your .TXT file which points to the shortcut, which points to MS Edge... you may change the file type extension to .BAT

Place the file in this directory to enable launch at startup: C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Not a problem you would think and I used to do this stuff on Windows 7 but on Windows 10 I need to know where the Microsoft Edge executable is located. Can you help me with this? I have searched but cannot find it.
