Windows 10 Touch Keyboard way to small

Hello,

I have the problem that the touch keyboard is a way to small. I have a display resolution from 3840x2160 and 200% scaling. I’ve testet it with 1080p and 100% scaling too but the keyboard still remains in this tiny size. I’ve testet to change the scaling in the preferences settings from several TabTib.exe but this didn’t help either. I also try this guid (http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/threads/how-to-resize-on-screen-keyboard.70030/) and have testet several values but nothing changed. I’m on the latest windows 10 build. (sfc /scannow was okay too)

Does someone have an idea why i have this problem and how i can fix it? Thank you.

Hi Youji,

Regardless of the screen resolution you set for your PC, it won't affect the size of the touch keyboard. If it's too small, you can still resize it. Now, before we get into to the solution, we just have a few questions first. May we know what's the make and model of your PC? Also, are you using the On-Screen Keyboard or is it the default touch keyboard of your PC?

In addition to that, you can try resizing it using your mouse device. Just right-click on the top of the keyboard, select Size, then click and drag to expand the size. You can also use your fingers by pinching out on the touch keyboard.

Let us know if you need further assistance. Feel free to post back.

Hi Marque,

i have a desktop PC

Specs:

Windows 10 Pro Build 16299.19

i7 7700k

GTX 1080

16GB Ram

I try to use the touch keyboard which can be activated in the task bar in the right corner. I want to use the touch keyboard because i connected my PC to the TV. But with this small size i cant really use it. I know i could use the old OSK but i would prefer to get the touch keyboard working normally. The Nvidia driver are up to date and I’ve even reinstalled them.

With that being said, since you connected your PC to your TV, then you can try resizing it through the TV screen. It's normal that the On-Screen Keyboard will appear small on large screens.

Regards.

Hi Marque

I have the same issue.

The Size option is greyed out so cannot be selected.

Any other suggestion.

This issue does not appear on my laptops only the desktop connected to the TV.

Hi,

are you on the latest windows 10 version? Cause i think the fall update is the problem, i rolled back to the older version and now the keyboard looks normal. I hope microsoft will fix this bug soon.

Hello Marque,

Same issue here, and changing the resolution actually works, when I go back in 1080p, the Touch Keyboard does get his original size. But like the OP, I'm on a big TV, my desktop resolution is 2560*1440 and the Touch Keyboard is really way too small in that resolution. And when I right click on it, all the options (Restore, Move, Size, etc.) are all grey and unavailable.

And honestly, I don't think it's normal that the keyboard get unaffected by high resolution and appear that small, since all the rest like icons and menus are scaled.

I really hope it'll get fix too !

Have a nice day

Hi. I have the same issue.
The on-screen keyboard on the monitor is displayed in normal size (the TV is off). The on-screen keyboard on the TV is very small (the monitor is off).

The problem appeared after the upgrade to Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.

Windows 10 16299.19
NVidia k620 (latest drivers)
Xeon e3-1231

Monitor Asus PA248Q (display port -> display port, 1920x1200, 16:10) and TV Panasonic tx-pr50st60 (dvi-d -> hdmi, 1920x1080, 16:9).

The scaling/sizing of the touch keyboard and the handwriting input panel is not correct on all Windows machines (two tablets and one desktop) I am using.

On the Surface 4 Pro it is too large, on the other two it is two small.

The problem appeared with the Fall Creator's update.

You can re-size the On-Screen keyboard (started by "OSK" in command line).

But You cannot resize the Touch Keyboard (German "Bildschirmtastatur").

The same is true for the handwriting panel one can switch to from the Touch Keyboard.

Undocked, not resizeable:

Docked, too small:

Handwriting Panel, docked, too small:

Onscreen Keyboard, resizeable
