Hi Carolina,

To isolate your concern, we would like to know the following:

  • How do you access your email account? Is it by Microsoft Office Outlook, Outlook.com web browser, or Outlook App?
  • What error message are you getting?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far to resolve this?

We look forward to your response.

I had the same problem with multiple deletes myself.  I found out from this forum that if you select the first email you want to delete and then hold down both the Ctrl and shift keys together and keep them down you can then select other emails you want to get rid of.  When you have finished selecting release the two keys and then press your delete key.

If it does not auto scroll when using the mouse, you can while holding the Ctrl and Shift keys use the mouse to go to the right scroll bar to go as far as you want.   Hope this helps.

You can click on enter selection mode. Whatever you're on inbox ,bulk mail or etc click on it located above the messages. Before you delete you can scroll through to see what you might want to save. Afterwards hit delete and all messages are deleted.

Happy to note it appears Microsoft has addressed this issue  in a recent update.  I'm not sure which one since there have been quite a few after the last major one.   But you can now select multiple emails for deletion/moving with ctrl+a or holding down shift as long as you are not in selection mode.  You can also deselect/select individual emails with ctrl.
So far I haven't seen it specifically mentioned in any update I've recently installed but you may want to check your updates if you're still having similar issues.

Unfortunately, I think you have to go back to native interfaces for gmail, etc.. to get the bulk delete and mail management functions and use Windows mail as a simple viewer/reader for daily mail only.

This is particularly helpful if you search for a contact or topic first so that you don't accidentally erase a message unintentionally.

I actually knew of that method.   What I'm hoping for is for them to implement a select all. Where I can then deselect the emails I  want after a search and then delete the rest..  Thank you for pointing that out though.
