SIHClient.exe

Why is this now becoming an issue.  AVG blocked this as a threat.  Should I let it be installed or should I go ahead and quarantine?

However it appears the file is needed for Windows so it sounds like a false positive by AVG.

Hi BZScott, SIHCLient.exe (Silent Install Helper) is a legitimate process, it starts background installation of Windows updates . . .

A lot of AV software incorrectly identify this process as malware, when it is not . ..

There is the possibility that file is infected, but that would be very rare - what type of malware is AVG identifying on that process?

It was the AVG Behavior Shield that detected the threat.  I'm puzzled because this must have been running previously before the April '18 update.  I restarted the computer and the threat was not detected this time. Not sure what or why this happened.  AVG has been around for quite a while you would think they would know if this was legitimate.  AVG has been running on this system for many years.

Thanks for the quick feedback.
