Have to enter PIN twice

When I enter my PIN, the screen briefly displays "Welcome", then blinks back to the PIN input field. I have to re-enter the PIN to gain access. Does anyone know the solution?

  • Can you tell us when did the issue first begin?
  • Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g., updates, software installation)?
  • To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Hi,

I don't login to my machine, but have noticed that I sometimes get a black screen where the login screen would be...

In my case I need to use the shutdown button on my keyboard, then restart the computer, which then boots normally...

In my case, this may only be happening after a setting change of some type, but I haven't determined the actual cause yet...

Just as a guess you might try turning off Fast Startup.. If this happens after a Restart as well as a Shutdown, Fast Startup probably isn't the cause, but it's easy to check...

This feature only works when you do a SHUTDOWN and then Boot.

It doesn't effect a RESTART.

To turn it off or on...

Go to Control panel...Power Options, and select Choose What the Power Buttons Do on the left.

Then select Change Settings That Are Currently Unavailable near the top center of screen...

Lower down on the window, uncheck Fast Startup.

This started after installing the Windows Insider Preview.
I looked for similar cases on the net, but I did not find a solution, so I waited for the last update. The problem still remained after this.

I have the same problem since "update 1709". I have to enter my pin twice. And also I have a problem too; I can't rename folders that view as small icons. When I change the icon size I can rename the folders. Interesting problems and all these have began after "update 1709".

Hi, I have the same problem since 1709 update.

If I show PIN request via mouse click, I can log after first PIN enter.

If I show PIN request via keyboard, I have to enter PIN twice, as others described.

Hi i just updated with the latest build and this is an issue i am getting now as well together with some other weird GUI/THEME/UI changing and going to a random weird style then i had (https://imgur.com/a/MdqcV). As shown in this image now windows UI looks like old 98 style. Even the windows holding the teamspeak ui looks different than before.
But please how do i fix the double login issue? and Also why would my whole UI and graphic option change without me consenting this after the patch update? i should be just SHOWN "hey there are these new feature" so would u like to activate them straight away?
