Delete User Accounts passwords Windows 10

I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and I need to delete a couple of user account passwords, but I have been unable to find any documentation to accomplish this task.

Hello EasyPort,

In Control panel, you can access and manage user accounts. If you select the account you wish to remove the password of, and select change password, it will open the standard window for changing the password and setting a new password hint. If you do not enter any information into the new password parts then just select next, it will set the password to no password.

Control Panel> User Accounts> User Accounts> Manage Other accounts

Then select the accounts you wish to change.

I hope this helps,

Kind regards
Fergus

Hello Fergus,

Many thanks for the quick response. I followed your instructions and eventually it opened a window called "credential manager" containing the web sites covered by passwords.

Thanks again for your help

Kind regards

John

When I follow the instructions, I get to the new password step.  Windows does not allow me to change to no password because of a linked email account it seems.  How can I get around this?

Tim,

Only local user account passwords can be changed on the computer itself.

MSAccount-linked user account passwords need to be changed online.  See When you can't sign in to your Microsoft account and use its link to reset the password.  As I understand it, an MSAccount password can be changed but not deleted.
