Protect Yourself From Tech Support Scams
Tech support scams are an industry-wide issue where scammers trick you into paying for unnecessary technical support services. You can help protect yourself from scammers by verifying that the contact is a Microsoft Agent or Microsoft Employee and that the phone number is an official Microsoft global customer service number.

Hello EasyPort,
In Control panel, you can access and manage user accounts. If you select the account you wish to remove the password of, and select change password, it will open the standard window for changing the password and setting a new password hint. If you do not enter any information into the new password parts then just select next, it will set the password to no password.
Control Panel> User Accounts> User Accounts> Manage Other accounts
Then select the accounts you wish to change.
I hope this helps,
Kind regards
Fergus

Hello Fergus,
Many thanks for the quick response. I followed your instructions and eventually it opened a window called "credential manager" containing the web sites covered by passwords.
Thanks again for your help
Kind regards
John

Tim,
Only local user account passwords can be changed on the computer itself.
MSAccount-linked user account passwords need to be changed online. See When you can't sign in to your Microsoft account and use its link to reset the password. As I understand it, an MSAccount password can be changed but not deleted.
