Win10 Child Can Remove Himself from Family Safety

How is it possible that a Family Safety program is set up to prevent a child from visiting porn sites and all he has to do is Remove/uninvite himself from the Family Page and he then has full access to all sites again?  Thank you in advance for a reply with a solution.

Children accounts cannot remove themselves from the family safety page without the password.  Be sure you change the password to something the child does not know, and don't let their account be an administrator-level account.

But surely all they need to do is change their sign in to a local account and they have free use again. Can you stop them signing in locally?

Shawn, As a "community moderator," I would hope your experience on this subject would be accurate.  I assure you, my 13 year old son was able to "remove" the Family Safety feature installed on Windows 10.  I am the only Administrator and only Adult using this computer.  I am also the only person with the password to sign on as an administrator.  My son, is a Family Member and a Child under the Family Safety user control.  He had the option to remove the Family Safety protection while logged in, as the child, in his name.  Thank you in advance to anyone with a correct solution to this problem.  Harold

He shouldn't have this ability to turn off the protections, I'd like to know the path to reach those.  However as Fedup_921 noted above, the user can disconnect the account from their MSA joined account.  I checked with a colleague and was suggested to try the policy options to restrict access to the Control Panel and Settings.  However that's a little harsh and blocks the user from even changing their wallpaper. I took a look at the Group Policy references for Windows 10 and don't see one for restricting the linked accounts (there are many to prevent a link from ever being created).  Let me reach back to my colleagues that work with Family Safety more and see if they can come this thread.

There are at least 4 methods that someone can use to circumvent family safety which I cannot specify in a public forum.  Nothing is foolproof (to the sufficiently talented fool) and family safety is just a tool to restrict some/most.  I suggest you should have a conversation with your son and spell out your rules and the consequences

Then Windows 10 parental control is a joke or a software designed by a 5 year old. Are there any adults in Microsoft proud of what they do?

Seriously Microsoft, is this a joke?

The child only has to remove themselves from the Family Safety "Family."

Then no matter how carefully the parent set the controls, they just won't apply.  The child has free rein to go anywhere on the internet.

Why doesn't the program require parental approval before the child can simply opt out, without even notifying the parent?????  This is a very unsafe "safety" program!!!

It's an absolute disaster.  I've been dealing with this insane deficiency for over 6 months now.  Can’t get a straight answer from Microsoft “support”..  I’ve had to take the laptop away from my son as he is super clever and has repeatedly opt’d out of “Family”.

Interesting how no one at Microsoft has responded here or anywhere else as far as I can see.

Joke indeed!

All the child has to do is go into his Microsoft account and remove himself. Now if I change the password on his Microsoft account he won't be able to log into his laptop. So really I don't see any solution to this.

But the problem is they don't need to have any talent to do this. They can simply remove themselves from the family. This Family Safety is a joke. The child should not have the option of removing himself and then get full access to everything under the sky.
