Antivirus not working after updating to Creators Update

Hi There

After installing MS Win10 creators update my G Data Total Security not working. Its says "Invalid certificate" or "module cannot be loaded". I have tried to uninstall and reinstall but still same issue. I tried to install Kaspersky, MalwareByte etc too, but same issue.

GData support sent me all valid certificates separately, and I added them to Trusted Root Certificates through MMC. Still same issue.

Scared of virus, ransomware etc now. Pl assist.

Hello,

Make sure that the date and time on your computer is synchronized to your time zone, then try to install again the said antivirus software.

Update us on the outcome

Regards.

I would not bloat out Windows with a 3rd party antivirus when Microsoft provides built-in protection that is perfectly adequate and assures absolute best performance without issues.

Almost all other AV's cause issues .  For that reason experts in forums  where we see the most cases recommend almost unanimously using Defender, supplemented by best-in-class on-demand scanners Malwarebytes and AdwCleaner periodically.

Are you getting the same experience if you enable Windows Defender?

How to enable and use the built in Windows Defender for Antivirus Protection in Windows 10

Win antivirus is inefficient and insufficient. Earlier used only win defender but got infected system.

Used gdata kaspersky etc to remove many malware.

In any case issue remains that why aftet update its showing certificate errors.

What is the exact problem with Defender?  Can we see a Screenshot using Snipping Tool ?  It is perfectly sufficient for most users with safe browsing habits, and for those who get infected I would add Malwarebytes Real Time protections to never get infected again.

Go over the Windows 10 Performance and Install Integrity Checklist - Microsoft Community to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done.  The quality of the install in Windows 10 determines everything else.

But if this is a Factory or Upgrade install these are inferior installs that most tech enthusiats won't even run.  I'd strongly consider doing a Clean Install Windows 10  which compiles the best possible install of Windows 10 that will stay that way as long as you stick with the tools and methods given.  There's also an automated Refresh that saves your files while shedding the factory bloatware that throttles Windows and causes endless issues:  Start fresh with a clean installation of Windows .

Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes.

Windows Defender: RTP: Not working

MalwareBytes: RTP: Not working

Same certificate errors.

rest of steps I will try, as those are time taking processes....

Right click Start button, Uninstall GData in Programs/Apps and Features.

Defender should turn on.  Check at Settings>Update and Security>Defender

If you dont' have Creators Version 1703 (check at Settings>System>About) then run it now from Media Creation Tool which resolves most problems since it reinstalls Windows while keeping your programs, files and most settings in place.

If this doesn't solve your problem and this is a Factory install, do a Refresh:  Start fresh with a clean installation of Windows to shed the corrupting factory bloatware that throttles Windows and causes endless issues.
