Windows 10 version 1709 computer will not wake from sleep

My computer is unresponsive after I put it in sleep mode.Nothing wakes it up except a manually turning it off via the power button. I have tried several fixes and I still have this issue. I just installed the fall creators update and still have the same problem. I would really appreciate a solution to this from an expert. My system is a Dell Inspiron desktop 3250. Thanks.

Hi , this issue started before the Fall Creators Update. I thought the new update would solve the problem. I can't pinpoint a date when it started, all I know is that I noticed that it would not wake up with the keyboard or mouse. I ran the power troubleshooter, enabled the keyboard to wake the computer.I know my system files are ok because I ran a system file disk check. I still have this issue. I also searched online which gave me a a lot of info about sleep mode issues but nothing has helped yet.

It is possible that your power plan settings were changed, that's why you're experiencing this issue. Let's check if it is properly set. Kindly follow these steps:

  1. Type power & sleep settings on the search bar.
  2. Click on Power & sleep settings.
  3. On the right panel, click on Additional power settings.
  4. Look for the current power plan that you are using, click on Change plan settings, then take a screenshot.
  5. Click on Change advanced power settings, then expand Sleep.
  6. Expand all the options under Sleep, then take a screenshot.

Post your screenshots here so that we can check them.

We'll patiently wait for your response.

Hi! I have also the same problem on my MSI GL62 laptop. Tried to install older&newer drivers and still the same issue. Recovered to previous 1703 build, works perfectly.
