Windows 10 slow boot up

I was under the impression 10 was to boot faster than 8.1, however I'm finding it takes considerably longer to boot using 10.. is it me or do others also find this condition?

Are there some "boot settings" that I might be overlooking and need to change?

Thanks in advance..

Same here - HP Probook 4530s with SSD hard drive and startup gone from less than 10 seconds (Win7) to nearly 5 minutes.

Seems to be something to do with having dual graphics cards!!!

Ok, so how do you disable the crossfire? My HP laptop is taking 30+ seconds to start in Windows 10 shipping version.

I tried the suggestion to reduce the time to list the Operating Systems. That did not help.

This is much worse than expected for a hot new OS.

Windows 10 extremely slow boot and Startup.

Just keeps stopping.

Mouse just stops working then suddenly starts again.

Very annoying that Microsoft doesn't test properly.

I know this is of no use to anyone, but in the end I got absolutely fed up with the slow boot time etc. The final straw was that Microsoft Money would not run as it needed Internet Explorer 6 or above!!! I have used Money for years and still rely on it.

What a complete waste of time this has all been.

Same here. Boot time increase from 20s to 2 min. When it get to desktop, still need to wait for about 1-2 min till everything can work properly. Now, after 2 days try this new OS, I am regret. My laptop crash and I have to hard reset for the first time since I bought this laptop. Maybe I will go back to windows 8.1.

Well after less than 48hrs of using this super-duper upgrade (that is super-duper slow!)

I've uninstalled and am whizzing again on 8.1.

Majorly let down by MS and their lack of support.

To all the people having slow boot problem..try this

1) go to device manager and under sound devices, look if you have IDT device..if yes uninstall it. Apparently it is an incompatible driver that is creating a problem. After uninstalling all IDT devices, right click and "scan for changes", windows will automatically re-install the new driver.

2) If the above fails, you can reset the PC from Setting>Update>Recovery>Reset..you can choose to keep your files, however, all your apps shall be deleted. I'd suggest a backup. Post this everything will be fixed.
