Sleep mode does not work after Creators Update (1709)

After upgrading my HP Spectre x360 notebook to Windows 10 Creators Fall update (1709) from Windfows 10,  I'm no longer able to go to sleep. Closing the lid  will take the machine to sleep, turn off the light in the power button. After 5 seconds the computer starts again, after what seem like a crash. There is no evidence in the event log, only that the last reboot was unexpected.

 

Tried to update the BIOS, reset the machine from system tools, and even reinstalled clean from USB media. The problem is still present.

 

Anyone have any solutions to this annoying problem?

I rolled back to a previous restore point before the update and the problem went away.
